Taking Care of Your Bikinis to Extend Their Lifespan

  1. Rinse After Every Use: After a fun day at the beach or pool, it's important to rinse your bikini immediately. Chlorine, saltwater, sand, and even sunscreen can cause damage if left on the fabric for too long. Simply rinse your bikini with cool tap water to remove any residue and help preserve its quality.

  2. Hand Wash with Mild Soap: To keep your bikini looking vibrant and prevent any damage, always hand wash it instead of tossing it into the washing machine. Fill a sink or basin with cool water and add a mild detergent specifically designed for delicates. Gently swirl the bikini in the soapy water, paying attention to any stained or soiled areas. Avoid scrubbing or wringing out the fabric, as this can stretch or distort its shape.

  3. Skip the Dryer: While it may be tempting to speed up the drying process, using a dryer can be harsh on your bikinis. Heat can weaken the elasticity and cause the fabric to shrink or lose its shape. Instead, gently squeeze out excess water after washing and lay your bikini flat on a clean towel. Let it air dry in a cool, shaded area. Avoid direct sunlight as it may fade the colors over time.

  4. Beware of Rough Surfaces: When you're lounging by the pool or on the beach, be mindful of the surfaces you sit or lie on. Rough surfaces like concrete, rocks, or wooden benches can snag or tear the delicate fabric of your bikini. Opt for a beach towel or a soft, sand-free area to protect your swimwear from unnecessary damage.

  5. Rotate Your Bikinis: To extend the lifespan of your bikinis, it's a good idea to rotate them throughout the season. Wearing the same bikini every day can cause wear and tear due to continuous use and exposure to elements. By alternating between multiple Cokomo bikinis, you give each piece a chance to rest, recover, and maintain its original shape.
